Hong Kong's exports may grow by 8% to 9% in 2026

The HKTDC announced on the 11th that it expects Hong Kong's exports to grow by ‌8% to 9% in 2026‌, continuing the strong performance of 2025.

 

According to HKTDC surveys, ‌53.2% of Hong Kong exporters believe that rising demand for AI and new technology-related electronic consumer goods‌ will be the primary driver of business growth in 2026. Currently, ‌electronic products account for over 70% of Hong Kong's total exports‌.

 

The survey also shows that ‌Asia remains the focus for future expansion plans‌. Among them, ‌42% of exporters will prioritize the Chinese mainland‌, followed by ‌other Asian regions (30.3%)‌ and ‌ASEAN (18.9%)‌. By industry, ‌almost all sectors will prioritize expanding business in the Chinese mainland‌.

 

The HKTDC stated that ‌the global export outlook for 2026 is expected to become clearer‌. ‌ASEAN's economic growth will remain robust in 2026‌, and rising demand for products will help Hong Kong's export growth.
